Focus Forward - Philippians 3:13-14

As we prepare to enter another NEW year, it’s imperative that we FOCUS our attention FORWARD. Yes, I realize this is many times easier said than done, but I also realize that this one step is vital for our future.

Though we hear this scripture quoted a lot, I think we often neglect to really grab hold of the practical application of this Word in our lives.
13Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Are you forgetting those things in your past?

Are you pressing toward your future?

I am.

Well, sort of.

Day by day, this is my prayer.

No matter what type of personal crisis you may have endured in your distant or recent past, know that God is THE God of your future. Every promise, every magnificent dream, every unachieved goal can still manifest in your life, as you FOCUS your attention FORWARD.

That’s right.

Choose to forget the past.

Choose to move on, even if this means you have to rejuvenate and renew your mind, day by day. Choose to FORGET those things of the past that weighed so heavily on you, they nearly wiped out your future.

Choose NOT to be distracted by past failures of any kind.

Accept where you are today but catch the revelation that though you accept where you are, you don’t necessarily have to agree with where you are or agree with your current state. Especially WHEN you know God has shown you a greater future that is the complete opposite of what you’re experiencing right now.

Accept God’s perfect purpose, plan & destiny for your life. Realize that a part of this plan, included some dead things in your past, which God had to kill off, as you sacrificed those issues to Him.

Now, let God be God and FOCUS ON YOUR FUTURE DESTINY. Focus on every PROMISE yet fulfilled and focus on that prize that awaits you.

As you do this, I guarantee you’ll experience a lot more peace and you’ll see a lot more manifestations of EVERYTHING you believe God for.
